Dry lips are one of my biggest pet peeves. Not only are they painfully but they make lip products impossible to apply and wear. I’ve found that lip scrubs are the perfect solution to keep your pout feeling soft and moisturized. The best bit? They’re so easy to make with ingredients I know you’ll already have in your cupboard!

Measuring spoons

Mixing bowl

Small jar or some sort of airtight storage solution

1 tablespoon of Coconut Oil

2 tablespoons Honey

2 teaspoons of Brown Sugar

Step 1: First off you need to measure out your coconut oil. If it’s in a solid form you’ll need to pop it in the microwave to turn it into a liquid – 30 seconds usually does the trick.

Step 2: Add all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and start mixing! We are using an oil so it will take a little bit of extra time for the three ingredients to congeal but don’t worry it will happen! Mix until it becomes a thick paste.

Step 3: Add scrub to air-tight storage of your choice.

Not sure how to use it?

I like to use a lip scrub every evening before bed. I take a little of the paste on my finger and work it all over my lips in circle motions. I remove with a tissue, pop on a heavy-duty lip treatment and in the morning my lips feel brand new!

Extra tips:

You can use white sugar instead of brown sugar and/or olive oil instead of coconut oil, just use whatever you have available.

These measurements are approximates so if you feel as though it’s not the right consistency for you – add more or less of one of the ingredients! More sugar will make it extra exfoliating.
